I got to know Jamie better after only the illness was beginning to take its toll, although he came with Øyvind to see me in Kristiansand in the late summer of 2014 (I believe). At the time he mentioned that something was not right with him, but he did not elaborate. The picture, from February 2018, is taken by his uncle Torgrim when he moved in at Lervig and after he had undergone surgery. As time passed I saw how the gruesome cancer was breaking this handsome man down. Only once Jamie mentioned to me that the treatment was not going very well.
